One of the greatest benefits social media provided for bloggers and businesses is the ability to interact directly with their target audience, existing readers and customers. It’s an amazing opportunity to build relationships, establish deeper connections, and further your blogs and brands. But to use it you need a following that interacts with your content, people who like, share and comment on your links. You need an engaged audience.
Facebook Insights can help you boost your blog’s page engagement, providing you with lots of data. Here’s how:
#1 Know The Post Types Your Followers Like The Most
These are actually the types of posts that are most liked, shared, and commented on by your fans. You need more of that type of content – photos, textual status updates, or links, – to get more followers engaged around your blog and online brand.
You can find this information in the Insights tab on your blog’s Facebook page, under the Posts tab, as Post Types (see the screenshot above). Make sure to have more posts with higher average engagement so more people would be talking about you.
#2 Know When Your Fans Are Online
In most cases, even your most interesting and eye-catching Facebook update will go unnoticed if you post it when there’s no one to see it. It’s all about the content in your audience live feeds, – to appear there you should post at times when your fans are actually online and able to read and interact with it.
Next to Posts, there’s a tab When Your Fans Are Online. Here Facebook shows you when your followers are most active on your page by days in the week and times of the day. This is pretty valuable information as it lets you plan your most engaging posts to be published when most of your following is there to see them.
#3 Schedule Engaging Posts At Times When Your Audience Is Online
Once you know the type of Facebook updates your audience likes best, and what’s the time when the most interaction and engagement occur on your page, it’s easy to connect the dots right? But since you can’t always be by your computer or smartphone, with Internet connection, to post images, links and updates, it’s best that you schedule them to be published at the most convenient time (night or day) according to your Insights data.
These are the three most basic fail-proof steps to boost user engagement on Facebook. Knowing your data can help you achieve any goal in blogging.
